The Arkel Southern Joint Venture is proud to be part of the Acadiana Regional Airport East Side Development Program, a transformative initiative designed to expand aviation capabilities and strengthen economic growth throughout the region. The project includes the construction of a new 123,000-square-foot Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) hangar facility, expanded aircraft apron space, additional vehicle parking, and critical infrastructure improvements.
The state-of-the-art MRO facility will provide aviation tenants with the capacity to expand operations, pursue new lines of business, and accommodate future growth. Supporting the hangar is a significant apron expansion that will increase aircraft parking and maneuvering capacity, enhancing safety and operational efficiency for existing and future airport users.
Infrastructure upgrades associated with the project will improve utility reliability, strengthen the airport’s power distribution system, and enhance fire protection capabilities, creating a more resilient environment for aviation operations.
Expected to generate approximately 300 new jobs, the East Side Development Program represents a major investment in the region’s future. By expanding aviation infrastructure, supporting workforce development, and creating opportunities for economic diversification, this project will serve as a catalyst for long-term growth across Acadiana and beyond.
