The Huey P. Long Field House Phase 2 Renovation continues the transformation of LSU's historic Huey P. Long Field House, originally constructed in 1932. Following the successful completion of Phase 1, this phase converts former racquetball courts into a 24,400-square-foot academic facility serving the LSU College of Human Sciences & Education and the LSU School of Nursing.
The new space will feature flexible classrooms, nursing skills labs, simulation labs, and a cadaver lab designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities for future healthcare professionals. The renovation also includes the construction of new foundations and structural supports within the existing building, requiring excavation below the existing slab and precise coordination in a confined environment with limited access for materials and equipment.
